How do I get started?

Schedule an appointment by calling 856-262-8300 and ask for a Re-Vita´ Life Evaluation. Once you schedule an appointment you will receive a packet. Complete and return the information in the packet and have your blood work done at a local lab prior to your scheduled appointment.

At your first visit the doctor will discuss your blood test results, review your history and prescribe the appropriate amount of hormones individualized to your needs.

What is the procedure like?

A small pellet is slipped under the skin with a specialized instrument after the skin has been numbed by a topical anesthetic. It is placed in the upper buttock and takes less than 5 minutes to insert.

The pellet will release a steady amount of low dose hormones directly into the blood stream just like a hormone is naturally meant to be released in our bodies, when our body is in need of it.

Then brief repeat visits about 3- 4 times each year to re-insert the pellets will be needed.

Some pellets may last up to 5-6 months or even longer.

Are there any side effects?

Side effects are rare in both men and women. However, you may experience the following:

In Women:

• Transient breast tenderness lasting 7-10 days following first insertion
• Acne is a rare occurrence
• Facial hair growth is rare and occurs no more frequently than what happens in most menopausal women on no hormonal supplement

What are the risks involved?

Hormone replacement therapy with pellets has an extremely low incidence of side effects. Pellets do not have the same risk of breast cancer as Prempro or synthetic Methy- testosterone. In fact, studies show a reduction in the incidence of breast cancer with the implantation of testosterone pellets, with or without estradiol pellets.
